City Auto Sales, LLC is pleased to announce its expansion into the Huntsville metro area with a location at 7507 Highway 72 in the community of Madison. As City Auto celebrates its fortieth anniversary in 2025, City Auto continues to grow since the establishment of its flagship location in 1986, which is in Memphis, TN at 4932 Elmore Road – where it continues to operate. The Memphis location opened on a 4-acre parcel doing business within a 4,000 square foot existing facility at that time.

Throughout the years, City Auto has grown under the direction of a skilled management team headed by founder and CEO David S. Andrews. As managing partner, Stan Norton drives business operations and directs the management teams in each store. Stan is a talented leader who has consistently executed on the vision of growth for City Auto. As a member of the Tennessee Motor Vehicle Commission and involved with the National Independent Auto Dealers Association, Stan anticipates business needs and has successfully charted a course through periods of high demand as well as challenging times delivering improvements each year.

In 2007, City Auto added new showroom space to the original Memphis building, creating an 8,000 square foot dealership space, and adding an additional 10 acres of land with the acquisition of adjacent property. As City Auto continued to expand, another adjacent property was purchased to provide two needed buildings for additional sales and service space. The Memphis dealership has been continually updated, and a major remodeling in 2021 modernized the customer consultation area with individual computer stations and an expanded customer lounge complete with welcome area and coffee bar. City Auto Memphis will have another update to showroom space this year.

With the continued success of the flagship location, City Auto launched a second dealership in 2011 in the fast-growing community of Murfreesboro, TN - home to Middle Tennessee State University and a thriving business community. At that time, City Auto purchased 4 acres at 1023 Bridge Avenue, and the dealership setup operations in the 5,000 square foot leased building original to the property. City Auto's growth in Murfreesboro made expanding necessary to meet demand and provide the staff and facilities to match customer expectations. In 2022, City Auto Murfreesboro realized its vision to expand celebrating with a ribbon-cutting for a new 27,000 square foot two-story facility at 1015 Bridge Avenue. Featuring a state-of-the-art 10-bay service shop, second floor offices, and 9,500 square feet of sales operations and showroom space, City Auto Murfreesboro is best-in-class among dealerships in the community. In 2023, City Auto Sales, LLC made a significant step into the manufacturer and franchise space welcoming Mitsubishi of North America to the Murfreesboro location.

In 2025, City Auto will also expand its commercial division from simply offering light-duty and medium-duty vehicles as part of the inventory mix and will create a dedicated fleet sales and service department. Adding staff and resources, it’s commercial division will offer business accounts significant value with preowned fleet options to meet their operating needs.
